And re: staying and going...there is often for me truly a felt sense at this time of year of wanting to leave/avoid/deny the inevitable coming winter/death/aging that autumn inkles (new word?) and at the same time a settling in and hunkering down with the season - a rootedness or return to the ground beneath us.

And I love Gluck's perfect portrayal of (especially a large) bonfire...'eager and furious, like an animal trying to get free...'Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15199591143218840782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2523711532970987581.post-68862991139124153902019-04-24T14:36:02.315-04:002019-04-24T14:36:02.315-04:00Quite an extraordinary conversation, in every resp...Quite an extraordinary conversation, in every respect I can imagine. Thank you. And thank you to Gjertrud Schnackenberg, whose "Heavenly Questions" I am teaching this week in my Form and Theory of Poetry class at Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms Schnackenberg's poetry has been a vivid and vital part of my life since the mid-1980s. I have long wanted to thank her in person, and perhaps even to speak with her about some of her work. I don't know if that day will arrive; I continue to hope it will. For now, however, would you tell her that Gardner Campbell said thank you, from his deep heart's core?Gardnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13298202257401928048noreply@blogger.com
